Welcome to our class page. Have a look around to find out what we have been learning about!
We are very excited to show you some of the work we have been doing this term. Our Topic for the Summer Term started with Nick Butterworth. He has written a number of books including Jasper's Beanstalk and the Percy the Park Keeper series.
We looked at the artwork of Andy Goldsworthy. He uses found objects to make his sculptures, such as sticks, leaves, stones and ice. We went into the woodland area and made our own sculptures. The children took their own photos.
For St George's Day we invited our parents in to share lunch with us.
In our PE sessions we have been working on Dance.
Our topic for the Spring term is Eric Carle. He has written and illustrated a number of books, such as The Hungry Caterpillar, The Bad-Tempered Ladybird and The Very Busy Spider.
The children had a lovely afternoon when their parents came to share their Polar Bear, Polar Bear video. We made cakes and shared our Learning Journals.
During Maths week we did lots of different maths activities. We had a theatre company come in and perform "The Coutback Kid". We followed a maths trail around our outside area and worked on filling Mrs Pollington's bucket.
Our topic for the Autumn term was The Jolly Postman by Janet and Allan Ahlberg and we linked this to the different traditional tales.
We made gingerbread men and one of them ran away! The children spent a week looking for him. We found some clues around the school. Eventually he turned up in Oak class!
This week we went on our trip to Pizza Express. We had great fun making our own pizzas.
